Canungra, whilst having areas of beautiful Rainforest around the Township, is also prone to FIRE through vegetation and property. This is due to a number of factors, including the tall Eucalyptus Forests (many regrowth areas), that surround the Town of Canungra, an increase of People living in the area (thus lighting fires), high lightning strike rate, land management practices that allow build up of  fuel in undergrowth, plus certain climatic conditions and weather patterns.
